Role: Lead Design, Product Strategy, Research
A design study and proposal for a learning garden for the disabled. The study analyzed complex site conditions, existing precedents and community input.
Collaborators: Barrington Farm School, Wildish Design & Research

Design Objectives
Create an engaging and experiential land art installation that brings together the following interests:
Experientially teach patrons about the dangers of sea level rise, habitat change, climate change.
Share the unique ecological regions (habitat types) of the reserve.
Integrate wildlife habitat (esp. avian and apian species) into the object.
Aesthetically “blend” object into the site.
Create a collaborative design and construction process.

Design Response
The design response integrated a iteration between construction and design product involving many collaborators:
5 towers are purposefully positioned across the reserve in unique ecological zones to highlight their uniqueness and potential for change.
Towers are datum markers to measure and express the potential effects of sea level rise and 100 yr storm events for the years 2050 and 2100.
Each tower is represented by an important 20th Century environmentalist and their respective interesting in a particular eco-type, i.e. wetland = Marjorie Stoneman-Douglas.
A quote from their respective seminal text are translated into morse code and imprinted on the tower, as well as turned into apian habitat.
